1. Traverse Research
Traverse Research B.V. is a Netherlands based company. Our business operations are located in the Netherlands and we store our data on servers in the European Economic Area (“EEA”).
2. General
This privacy statement (“Privacy Statement”) summarizes when and how your personal information is collected, used, safeguarded and disclosed by Traverse Research (also referred to as “us”, “our” and “we”) when using our EVOLVE software (“EVOLVE”) and visiting our EVOLVE website (“Website”).
EVOLVE and the Website are collectively referred to as our "Service".
We reserve the right to change the provisions of this Privacy Statement from time to time. If we make changes, we will notify you. Nevertheless, we recommend that you periodically check yourself whether the Privacy Statement has been changed.
3. Which personal data do we process?
If you use our services or visit our websites, we may process your personal data. Below we explain per role which personal data we may collect from you, why we process it and how long we store it.
3.1 Your use of EVOLVE
A. To offer EVOLVE and to make this part of the Service workable, we may process the personal data mentioned below up to 12 months after your account has been terminated. We use the personal data to create an account for you, to authorize you and to correspond with you about EVOLVE and your inquiries. Our processing basis is the performance of an agreement.

B. To secure EVOLVE, we process the personal data mentioned below up to 2 years after collecting it. Our processing basis is our legitimate interest to adequately secure EVOLVE.

C. To improve EVOLVE we process the following personal data up to 2 years after collecting it. Our processing basis is our legitimate interest to improve our Services. Your interests are safeguarded because the data processing is limited.

- We may also collect report log files, crash reports and other anonymous statistical information.
The above data can be shared with our processors like Sentry (crash analysis), Heap.io (telemetry), Segment.io (telemetry), Auth0 (login). They can store data outside the EEA, but guarantee that they continue to comply with European privacy legislation.
We further use Google Analytics to collect anonymous statistical information about how EVOLVE is used. You can opt out of Google Analytics here: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
D. If you use EVOLVE we collect information about the hardware and software specifications of your computer or mobile device or other hardware under test. This system information does not contain any personally identifiable information about you.
If you have an account on https://evolvebenchmark.com, your benchmark results will be associated with your username.
You can add an optional description to each one of your benchmark results following the use of EVOLVE. If you choose to include personal information in a result's description then we will determine that you have given us your consent to store and display the information in our Service.
We may share aggregated, non-personally identifiable information about benchmark results publicly and with our partners. For example, we may share information to show trends about the general use of our Service.
E. Result database services. If you use EVOLVE your benchmark results will be added to our benchmark results database (“Database”).We may give third parties access to anonymized data in our benchmark results database by creating services that make it possible to ask specific questions of our Database, (f.e. about PC configurations with specific graphic cards), and producing reports summarizing the data regarding these different kinds of computer configurations. The information in reports is anonymized. We do not attach your personal user information to these services.
F. Hall of Fame. (Exceptional) benchmark scores may qualify for our Hall of Fame. If you have a evolvebenchmark.com account and you submit a qualifying score, it will appear in the Hall of Fame alongside your username, your country, and information about your computer hardware. If you do not want your results to appear in the Hall of Fame, you should hide your results as described above under E.
G. Online Store(s). When you purchase EVOLVE in an available online store (f.e. Stream, Epic Game Store, Microsoft Store, Google Play Store), we ask for your name, e-mail address, country, and credit card information in order to validate and fulfill your purchase.
To prevent fraud, your information will be subjected to an automated risk review, which may result in your purchase being declined.
Our online store is powered by a third-party provider called Stripe that specializes in the safe and secure sale and fulfillment of software and other digital products. Please see the privacy policy of Stripe here: https://stripe.com/nl/privacy.
Stripe is compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).
H. If you use EVOLVE we can send you marketing material such as newsletters and offers. To this end, we process the data mentioned below up to 2 years after we last had contact with you or, if that is later, the last moment you performed an action on EVOLVE. Our processing basis is our legitimate commercial interest to inform you about other (related) services we offer. Your interests are safeguarded by giving you the option to unsubscribe from receiving marketing material.

You can unsubscribe from these newsletters by following the unsubscribe instructions included in the newsletter. If you unsubscribe from the newsletter, it will not affect our ability to send you e-mails about important matters and your account.
I. If you use EVOLVE, you can provide us with additional information by entering information in optional fields. This is voluntary. If you provide optional information, we will process the entered information based on your consent. You have the right to withdraw this consent at any time by clearing the completed fields or by contacting us at: support@traverseresearch.nl. It concerns the following data.
Improving our Services, processed up to 2 years after collection:
- Name (via completed questionnaires)
- Function (via completed questionnaires)
- Organization (via completed questionnaires)
- Reviews given (processed for up to 12 months after account termination).
Other information
- Profile photo, for personalizing the personal profile, processed up to 12 months after termination of the account.
3.2 Visitors to our Website
A. To ensure that we can provide you a Website that works, we may process personal data as mentioned below when you visit our Website. Our processing basis is our legitimate interest.

B. To improve our Websites, we may process the personal data mentioned below up to 2 years after collecting it. Our processing basis is our legitimate interest in improving our websites. Your interests are safeguarded because data processing is limited and you can choose not to share the data by unchecking the "Statistics" box.

The above data can be shared with Google Analytics, which can store data outside the EEA but guarantees to continue to comply with European privacy legislation.
C. If you visit our Website, we may place tracking and advertising cookies when you grant us permission to do so in the cookie notification. The cookies may process the information mentioned below up to 2 years after the collection of the data. Your interests are safeguarded because data processing is limited and you can choose to share the data by checking the "Marketing" box.

The tracking cookies are placed by Google, LinkedIn and Meta. They can store the data outside the EEA, but guarantee to comply with European privacy legislation.
D. When you ask questions or make a request, we will process the personal data mentioned below up to 2 years after we last had contact with you. We process your data to respond to your question or request and to improve our Service. Our processing basis is our legitimate interest to be able to respond to questions and requests and to improve our Service.

We store the above personal data at HubSpot. This party stores your data outside of the EEA, but they guarantee compliance with European privacy legislation.
E. If you register yourself for a newsletter on our Website, we will process the data mentioned below until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Our processing basis is consent, based on your voluntarily signing up for the newsletter.

3.3 You apply for a job at Traverse Research
A. If you apply for a job, we may process your personal data as mentioned below up to 4 weeks after completing the job-application or up to 1 year if you request us to do so. Our processing basis is our legitimate interest in processing job-application.

We approach interesting parties, such as potential customers, with the aim of establishing a business relationship with them. If you act as contact person for such a party, we will process the personal data mentioned below up to 4 years after we last had contact with you. We will only process the data if you have given us permission to do so.

4. Sharing your personal data
4.1 Our data processors
We may ask others to assist us in providing our Services. These processors may therefore process your personal data on our behalf. We agree with these processors that they may only use your personal data to enable our Service.
We use the following types of processors:
- parties that host our services and websites, store data and manage and maintain our servers and databases;
- developers and suppliers of software and questionnaires;
- research agencies and analytical software suppliers to improve our services;
- ticket managers for user support;
- marketing agencies, and;
- providers of relationship management software.
4.2 Sharing your personal data with third parties
We only share your personal data with third parties if this is:
- described in this Privacy Statement and we have a legitimate basis for this;
- reasonably necessary or appropriate to comply with our legal obligations;
- necessary to comply with legal requests from authorities;
- necessary to respond to any claims;
- necessary to protect the rights, property or safety of us, our users, our employees or the public;
- necessary to protect ourselves and our users from fraudulent, offensive, inappropriate or unlawful use of our Service.
We will inform you immediately if a government agency makes a request relating to your personal data, unless we are prohibited from doing so by law.
Our Websites may also contain links to websites of other parties. If you provide your personal data on these third-party pages, the privacy statement of these third parties applies. We are not responsible for the content of the privacy statement of these third parties and the way in which these parties process your personal data. We encourage you to review their privacy statement before providing any personal information to them.
5. Protection of your personal data
We have taken appropriate technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal data. These measures include:
- Our servers are physically and digitally secured so that people cannot view your personal data without our consent.
- We ensure that data is sent encrypted between our Services, the Website and our servers.
- Vulnerabilities in EVOLVE and the Website are addressed as soon as possible.
- Physical and electronic measures are designed to prevent unauthorized access, loss or misuse of personal data as much as possible.
- Your passwords are stored encrypted.
We would like to emphasize that the internet is never fully secure. Be careful what you share via the internet. If in doubt, contact us first.
6. Your rights
6.1 Rights
You have certain rights regarding your personal data. The rights that are mentioned below are not absolute rights. We will always consider the interests involved to see if we can reasonably meet your request. If this is reasonably not possible (f.e. it would be at the unreasonable expense of the privacy (rights) of others), we may refuse your request. When refusing a, we will inform you with reasons.
A. Right to access and transfer data
You have the right to request which personal data we process about you. You can also ask us:
- what (types of) personal data we process about you;
- on what basis we process your personal data and for what reasons;
- which parties and what type of parties we share your personal data with;
- how long we store your personal data;
- where the personal data comes from, and;
- whether we use automated decision-making.
You may also request a copy of your personal data processed by us. Do you want additional copies? Then we can charge a reasonable fee for this.
B. Right to rectification
When personal data processed by us is incorrect or incomplete, you may request us to adjust or supplement your personal data. If we approve your request, we will, insofar as this is reasonably possible, inform the parties to whom we provide data.
C. Right to erasure of data
You can request us to delete personal data when you no longer want us to process certain personal data.
If we have accidentally processed data unlawfully or a specific law prescribes that we must delete data, we will delete the data. If the data is necessary for the settlement of a legal procedure or a (legal) dispute, we will only delete the personal data after the procedure or dispute has ended.
If we approve your request, we will, as far as is reasonably possible, inform the parties to whom we provide data.
D. Restriction of processing
If you believe that we are not processing the correct personal data about you, or if you believe that we are processing your personal data unlawfully or no longer need it to, you can request us to restrict the processing of that personal data. For example, during the time that we need to assess your request, or if there is no lawful basis (anymore) but you still have an interest in us not deleting the personal data yet. If we restrict the processing of your personal data at your request, we may still use that data for the settlement of legal proceedings or a (legal) dispute.
E. Automated individual decision-making
We do not make decisions based solely on automated processing.
F. Withdrawal of consent
You may withdraw your consent at any time by clearing voluntarily completed fields of information or by contacting us. Our contact details are described below.
6.2 Exercising your rights
Requests can be sent to: support@traverseresearch.nl.
Before responding to your request, we will verify that it concerns your personal data. We may do so by having you log in to your EVOLVE account.
If you do not have an account or if we cannot confirm your identity in this way, we will try to verify your identity by e-mail or telephone. If that also fails, we can ask for a copy of a valid ID. In that case, you are asked to shield your social security number (BSN), MRZ (Machine Readable Zone) and ID photo.
We aim to deal with your request or complaint within one month. If we are not able to do so, we will notify you of the reasons for the delay and when our reply is expected to be provided. This can never be longer than 3 months after receipt of your request or complaint.
6.3 Dutch Data Protection Authority / Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens
Please contact us if you have any complaints about our processing. If we cannot come to an agreement with you, you also have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
